1. How can I change the number of messages I'm receiving (increase/decrease the amount)?
  1. Once logged into Kitco Email Service, click the tab for the alert that you want to change (i.e. Commodities, Exchange Rates or Market Alerts).
  2. For Commodities and Exchange Rate alerts, select the alert you want to change and then in the Criteria column, make the amount lower or higher:
    1. To increase the number of messages, make the amount lower.
    2. To decrease the number of messages, make the amount higher.
  3. To decrease the number of Market Alerts messages, uncheck the times that you want to receive message. The fewer number of times selected, the fewer messages you will receive. The greater number of times selected, the greater number messages you will receive.
  4. Click Update. The settings will be changed automatically.

2. How can I change my profile information?
  1. Once logged into Kitco Email Service, click My Account.
  2. You will see your profile information. Change any fields that you require and then click Update. Your settings will be updated automatically.

3. How can I change my email address?
  1. Once logged into Kitco Email Service, click My Account.
  2. In the Email field, update your email address.
  3. Click Update. Your settings will be updated automatically.

4. How do I change my password?
  1. Once logged into Kitco Email Service, click My Account
  2. In the Password field, enter the new password.
  3. In the Confirm Password field, enter the new password again.
  4. Click Update. Your settings will be changed automatically.

5. What is the difference between an HTML alert and a Plain Text alert?
Most email programs today will prevent automatic downloading of HTML messages to protect your privacy. The Kitco Email Service is offered in both HTML and plain text formats. An HTML alert will send HTML-code messages to your email address, and it may include graphics, links and formatting of the text. A plain text alert will send a message in text format to your email account. It will not include graphics or links.

6. What is a commodity alert?
In this context, a commodity alert is an email message that is sent when there is a change in the price of a precious metal. You will determine which precious metal and how great of a change there must be for you to receive a message. For example, an alert could be set up to send when there is a change in the price of gold by $0.20.

7. What is an exchange rate alert?
In this context, an exchange rate alert is an email message that is sent when there is a change in the price of the exchange rate. You will determine which currency and how great of a change there must be for you to receive a message. For example, an alert could be set up to send when there is a change in the USD by $0.20.

8. What is a market alert?
In this context, a market alert is an email message that is sent with the market prices of London Fix or New York Close at a specific time.

9. How do I add a new Commodity alert?
  1. Click the Commodities tab.
  2. Click Add Commodity.
  3. In Commodity, select the metal for which you'd like to receive email alerts.
  4. In Criteria, select the difference in price for which you'd like to receive an alert.
  5. For example, to receive an alert when Silver changes by $0.10, select Silver and 0.1.
  6. Click Save. Your settings will be changed automatically and you will see the commodity added to your list under the Commodities tab.

10. How do I add a new Exchange Rate alert?
  1. Click the Exchange Rates tab.
  2. Click Add Currency.
  3. In Currency, select the currency for which you'd like to receive email alerts.
  4. In Criteria, select the difference in the exchange rate for which you'd like to receive an alert. For example, to receive an alert when USD changes by $0.10, select USD and 0.1.
  5. Click Save. Your settings will be changed automatically and you will see the commodity added to your list under the Exchange Rates tab.

11. How do I add a new Market alert?
  1. Click the Market Alert tab.
  2. Select whether you want to receive London Fix prices or the New York Close prices (or both).
  3. Select the times you'd like to receive the alerts. You can select more than one time.
  4. Click Save. Your settings will be changed automatically.

12. How can I remove/cancel a Commodities or Exchange Rate alert?
  1. Click the appropriate tab (Commodities or Exchange Rates).
  2. Select the alert you'd like to remove.
  3. Two red buttons will appear on the right. Click the button that says "Remove". Your settings will be automatically updated.

13. How can I remove/cancel a Market alert?
  1. Click the Market Alerts tab.
  2. To stop receiving all alerts for either London Fix or New York Close, uncheck the appropriate setting (i.e. to remove all London Fix alerts, uncheck the box for the London fix prices).
  3. To stop receiving alerts at a specific time, uncheck the time for the alert you'd like to remove.
  4. Click Save market alerts setting. Your settings will be automatically updated.

14. What is a black out period?
In the context of Kitco Email Service, a blackout period is a time when you want to temporarily stop receiving email alerts. This could be for a period of a several hours every day; for example,maybe you do not want to receive email alerts overnight or between 12PM and 1PM. A blackout period can also be indefinite ? you want to stop receiving email alerts until further notice, such as when you go on vacation. Please see How can I temporarily stop receiving alerts? for more information on how to activate a blackout period.

15. How can I temporarily stop receiving alerts?
To temporarily stop receiving alerts, you must set a "blackout period". There are two types of blackout periods:
  1. A daily blackout stops alerts for a specific time period, such as from 8PM--8AM or from 12PM to 1PM. This is useful if you want to do not want to receive alerts overnight or on your lunch break, for example.
    1. Click My Account and then click the Options tab.
    2. Under Blackout Period, use the From and To fields to select the time in the day when you do not want to receive messages.
    3. Leave Receive Emails as On.
    4. Click Update. Your settings will be updated automatically.
  2. A blackout period can stop alerts indefinitely, until further notice. This is useful if you want to stop receiving alerts while you are on vacation or if you are going to be unable to check your email for a long period of time.
    1. Click My Account and then click the Options tab.
    2. Under Blackout Period, change Receive Emails to Off.
    3. Click Update. Your settings will be updated automatically. When you are ready to receive emails again, you must remember to change the Receive Emails field to On.

16. I turned off my email alerts temporarily. How can I turn them back on or change them?
When you turned off your alerts temporarily, you set a "blackout period". There are two types of blackout periods:
  1. A daily blackout stops alerts for a specific time period, such as from 8PM to 8AM. To turn your email alerts back on or change the times:
    1. Click My Account and then click the Options tab.
    2. Under Blackout Period, set the From and To fields to be blank if you want to receive messages at all times during the day (removing the blackout period completely). Or, to change the times, set new times in the From and To fields.
    3. Leave Receive Emails as On.
    4. Click Update. Your settings will be updated automatically.
  2. A blackout period can also stop alerts indefinitely, until further notice. To turn your email alerts back on:
    1. Click My Account and then click the Options tab.
    2. Under Blackout Period, change Receive Emails to On.
    3. Click Update. Your settings will be updated automatically.

17. How do I unsubscribe/stop receiving email alerts?
  1. Go to www.kitconews.com but do not log in. Or if you are already logged in, click Log Off (in the top right corner).
  2. Click Unsubscribe.
  3. Enter your email address and click Send. You will be automatically unsubscribed to Kitco Email Service.
